mis-en-scene is the overall composition of a scene.


Background Information

When analyzing mis-en-scene you have to see the overall visual composition of the shot. Acting plays a huge part in the analyzation of mis-in-scene and lighting also. Mis- in- scene is in every movie but is different in some movies because it might be less powerful in one and really powerful in another which can dramatically effect the overall feeling of the film. 

the visual elements of mis en scene is really important to how the audience feels on the subject in the film.

the elements include 

composition the organization, distribution and the overall connections of characters and objects

setting is the location, space, and time.

design is the setting, props, lighting, and characters 

Reflection

Overall i learned that mi-sen-scene is everything the audience sees in the scene and there are so many factors that add to the meaning of the scene. Elements such as setting, composition, and lighting. I also learned how to effectively use mis en scene to create a deep meaning within a scene

CONTENT APPLICATION

Using the information gathered i created a scene of 2 planes fighting at night which represents mis-en-scene by all of the components that add meaning to the picture. Elements such as the grey clouds, orange sun, and the dark blue paper all have a significant meaning. the clouds represents a stormy night. The positioning of the camera is a high angle close shot good vs evil, and violence.misenscene
